Jacob H. "Jack" Heemsbergen, 87, passed away April 28, 2010 in Pueblo, Colorado.
Jack was born in Prairie City, Iowa on March 19, 1923 to Richard and Ida (Lousma) Heemsbergen. He was a farmer and worked as a machinist for many years. Later he was a union millwright which he was very proud of. Jack was united in marriage to Gladys Winegar on January 31, 1944 in Atchison, KS; she preceded him in death on December 8, 2006.
Jack is survived by his children, Carolyn (Roy) Silcox of Minnesota, and Michael (Sandy) Heemsbergen of Conifer, CO; four grandchildren, Tim Silcox, Tina VonBehren, Rachel Heemsbergen and Kelly Heemsbergen; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Betty VanderLinden. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., prior to funeral services at 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City, Iowa. Interment will follow at Waveland Cemetery also in Prairie City, IA
