MAXWELL — Lloyd Henry Breer, 82, of Maxwell died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Lloyd was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Dodge City, Minn., the son of Adolph and Kathryn (Sinkler) Breer. He graduated from Baxter High School in 1946. Lloyd was united in marriage to Betty Boozell on Feb. 10, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. Lloyd served in Korea in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a member of the Collins Christian Church. Lloyd was a farmer and had farmed all of his life in the Maxwell, Collins and Baxter area. He enjoyed farming, sharing time with his family, shooting pool, playing cards and talking with people and his friends.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Betty of Maxwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Diane and Jim McGraw of Ankeny, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Michele Breer of Collins, Iowa; two grandchildren, Jill (Jason) Frederick and Brandon Breer; and two great-grandchildren, Avery and Lauren Frederick.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Breer; and three sisters, Alice Evans and two sisters in infancy.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Collins Christian Church. Interment will be in the Collins Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Memorials may be made to the Collins Christian Church.
