Barbara A. (Blacker) Bozarth, 79, of Newton died on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at the Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be left to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include her son, Michael “Mike” Bozarth of Newton; grandsons, Brett (Lacey) Bozarth of Newton and Josh Bozarth of Newton; great-grandson, Landon Bozarth of Newton; her sister, Beverly (Kenneth) Gifford of Kellogg; her brother-in-law, Charles Korte of Laurel, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; her sister, Betty Korte; and her brother, Charles, in infancy.

Barbara A. (Blacker) Bozarth was born September 15, 1930.
Barb was a 1948 graduate of Newton High School. She worked for the Maytag Company for 50 years, retiring in 1998 as an Executive Secretary. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Barb enjoyed her grandsons and great-grandson, lunches with the girls, reading, crossword puzzles, spending time with friends, and being at her church.
