CARL NORTHCUTT

Carl W. Northcutt, 61, of rural Lynnville died of a heart ailment Friday, Oct. 20, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon, with the Rev. Kevin Glesener of the New Sharon United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Stewart Cemetery near New Sharon.

He was the son of Clark and Susa Hull Northcutt and was born Feb. 5, 1934, in Oskaloosa. He graduated from New Sharon High School in 1952. Mr. Northcutt served in the U.S. Army Jan. 1955 through December 1956.

He was married to Nancy Jeffrie Sept. 6, 1959, in Hampton. He was a farmer and a bus driver for the North Mahaska School District for many years. He was a member of the New Sharon United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Steve of Lynnville; two daughters, Renee Templeton of Muscatine and Suzette Ver Steegh of Montezuma; four grandsons; four brothers, Lowell of Sully, Clark Jr. of New Sharon, Gordon of Lynnville and Vernon of New Sharon; and three sisters, Erlyne DeJong of New Sharon, Anna McDowell of Searsboro and Voyian Richards of Mondovi, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert.

Memorial contributions may be made to the North Mahaska Community Schools.
