Hand of Death Takes Another Worthy Citizen

The hand of death has certainly claimed another of our worthy citizens, William Lufkin. The news of his death came as a shock to the entire community as well as his own immediate family. He had been suffering with an attack of la grippe and diabetes for the last couple of weeks but they did not realize his condition as alarming until death was at land.

He was the only son of Benjamin and Johanna Lufkin, born at Reasnor, August 30th, 1883 and died March 4th, 1914, aged 30 years, 6 months and 4 days. He was educated in the Reasnor schools and his entire life was spent on the home farm south of town. He was united in marriage to Florence D. Ratner Jan. 22, 1907. To this union were born two sons, William Omar, and Lloyd Francis, who with the grief stricken wife, mother and father, are left to mourn the departure of this loving husband, father and son.

The funeral services were conducted by rev. Fitzsimmons at the M. E. Church Saturday morning and the Woodmen had charge of the services at the Hewitt Cemetery. ~ Newspaper unknown.
