Melody Mae Wright, 34, of Ira died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
A funeral service will be on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax. Burial will follow at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been set for Melody’s children at Bank Iowa and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the bank at 215 W. Second St. N., Newton, IA 50208. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Jimmie Renfro and Wava May, Melody was born on July 12, 1975, in Des Moines. She graduated from Colfax Mingo High School in 1993 and went on to complete her associate degree in Medical Office Technology in 1995. On May 10, 1997, she was united in marriage to Timothy Wright. They had made their life together in Ira and have two children, Peyton, 5, and Dane, 1. Melody was currently employed at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Those left to honor Melody’s memory include her husband, Tim, and two children, Peyton and Dane, of Ira; her parents, Jimmie Renfro and Wava May, both of Colfax; two sisters, Sherri Hensley of Texas and Michele Jones of Colorado; her extended family and many friends. Preceding her in death were a sister, Diane, and her grandparents, Russell and Virginia Renfro and Arthur and Norma May.
