Douglas F. Illingworth, 63, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Newton, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, in Durham, N.C.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Those left to honor Douglas's memory are his daughter, Laura Illingworth of Raleigh, NC; granddogs, Brutus and Alexis of Raleigh; daughter, Bridget (Daren) Illingworth-Williams of Gun Barrel City, Texas; granddaughters, Kristin, Ka'Leigh and Erin Jean Wallace; father, Frank of Marshalltown; sister, Shirely VanGenderen; brothers, Denny Illingworth and Tom (Diane) Illingworth, all of Newton; and many other nieces and nephews in Newton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and his grandparents and great-grandparents.
Douglas graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1964. He was employed by CarQuest/General Parts Inc.
