Francis Marion Kennedy Jr., 59, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Friday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife, Kristen Kennedy of Knoxville; his son, Christopher (Jolene) Kennedy of Newton, Iowa; his daughter, Dana Kennedy of Clive, Iowa; his step-son, Andy Haning of Ankeny, Iowa; and his step-daughter, Caty Haning of Knoxville.
Graveside Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec, 23, 2009, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Visitation will begin Tuesday afternoon after 3 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. A celebration of Marion’s life, with the family present, will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home.
For those desiring, memorials may be given for Save Our Stadium (S.O.S).

He was born February 25, 1950, in Oskaloosa, IA, the son of the late Virginia and F. Marion Kennedy Sr. He was raised by the late Mildred and Pete Kirtley.
He was a Knoxville High School graduate, Class of 1968. He was employed by Magtag and retired in 34 years of service and was most recently working surveillance at Prairie Meadows in Altoona. He was a faithful fan of the Knoxville Raceway, New York Yankees, Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes and most importantly, all of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kristen Kennedy, whom he married on December 24, 2004; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jolene Kennedy of Newton, IA; daughter, Dana Kennedy of Clive, IA; step-son, Andy Haning of Ankeny, IA; step-daughter, Caty Haning of Knoxville, IA; grandsons, Nathan, Austin & Collin Kennedy and Street Conner; granddaughter, Andie Kay Alexander; sister, Phyllis Williams of Oskaloosa, IA; and brothers, Tony Kennedy of Texas; Harry Kennedy of Jefferson City, MO; Cal Stout of Des Moines, IA; and Mike Kennedy of Knoxville, IA.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, stubbornness, color coordination (or lack thereof), work ethic and dynamic personality. He has left an ever-lasting imprint on the hearts of the friends and family who love him.
