Donald N. Morris, 83, of Newton, formerly of Killduff, died on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home.
Those left to honor Donald’s memory are his two sons, Donnie N. (Terri) Morris of Sully and Larry E. (Melissa) Morris of Newton; daughter, Cindy (Manzar) Shah of Newton; his six grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Phipps of Grinnell and Virginia Padgett of Dublin, Ga.
He was preceded in death by her parents, Moreau and Lillian (Sinnerman) Morris; wife, Ida May, on Nov. 24, 2009; son, Garry W. Morris, in 2001; son-in-law, Michael A. Woody, in 2004; and two brothers, Moreau “Spud” Morris Jr. and Esley Morris.

Donald N. Morris was born March 14, 1926. Donald worked at the Grinnell Foundry, Langs Dairy in Grinnell, and then as a factory worker for Maytag for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Friday, December 11, 2009 at McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax, Iowa.
