Irene Cornish Eaton was born in Woodhull, Ill., April 26, 1892. Her early life was spent there and at Orient, Iowa, the family moving to Kellogg, Iowa, about twelve years ago, where she had since made her home and where she died Dec. 17, 1918.
She attended the Kellogg high school, graduating in the class of 1909. She also attended the Iowa State Teachers' college and was a popular teacher in the rural schools of Jasper county for some time. For a number of years she was a most loyal and devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was united in marriage to Leslie T. Eaton June 7, 1914, to which union was born one son, Dwain, aged 3 years. Her father, E. H. Cornish, having died two years ago, she leaves to mourn her death the sorrowing husband and little son, her mother, Mrs. Henrietta Cornish, and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Bell of Newton, besides a wide circle of friends.
Naturally earnest, persistent and full of kindness toward all, she will be greatly missed, and the sympathy of the entire community in their great loss.
The funeral services were held at the home on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. R. B. Helser, pastor of the Christian church of Newton. Interment was made at the Kellogg cemetery. The burial services were conducted by the local chapter of the Eastern Star.

Card of Thanks: To all the friends whose sympathy and services were so kindly tendered in our time of bereavement, we desire to extend our sincere thanks.
