Dorothy E. (Eibs) Damman, 92, died on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at Careage of Newton in Newton.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Memorials in Dorothy’s name may be left at the funeral home. The family will be using the memorials for several projects.
Survivors include her four sons, Byron E. Damman of Newton, Gary A. (Sandy) Damman of Altoona, Denny L. (Judy) Damman of Boone, and Dave L. (Pam) Damman of Marshalltown; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, August E. “Babe” Damman, Jr. in 2003; two brothers and a sister.

Those left to honor Dorothy's memory are her four sons, Byron E. Damman of Newton, Gary A. (Sandy) Damman of Altoona, Denny L. (Judy) Damman of Boone, and Dave L. (Pam) Damman of Marshalltown; eleven grandchildren, Toni Werden, Todd (Deb) Damman, Trisha (Danny) Marshall, Kelly (Gary) Lane, Tim Damman, Gina Bouton, Kyle Damman, Bill (Lisa) Damman, Chris (Danette) Dammon, Eric (Jennifer) Damman, and Jessica Dammon (Jason Rickers; her eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Clara (Tinnermeier) Eibs; husband, August E. “Babe” Damman, Jr. in 2003; two brothers and a sister.
Dorothy was a longtime resident of Malaka Township of Jasper County, Iowa; where she was a homemaker and farmer's wife. Dorothy was a past member of the St. John’s Church and of Zoar Church. Dorothy enjoyed flower gardening, gardening, sewing, cooking, baking and making crafts.
Interment: Immediately following the funeral service on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the St. John's Cemetery in rural Newton.
