Homer Hinshaw Dies at Hospital; Services Pending
Homer L. Hinshaw, 59, a lifelong resident of Kellogg, died at 5 a.m. this morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements which have not been completed awaiting pending word from a son stationed in the Air Force in Germany.
The Rev. James E. Siebert of Kellogg will conduct the services. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Hinshaw will lie in state at his home in Kellogg after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors are his wife, Velma; four sons, Robert and Roger of Kellogg; Garry in the Air Force in Germany and Jerry in the Air Force at El Paso, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Hobbs of Kellogg; and 12 grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Harold Hinshaw of Kellogg; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Rinehart of Knoxville, Mrs. Lena Springer of Grinnell and Mrs. Clarence Hammer of Kellogg, and his father, Irvin Hinshaw of Kellogg.
He was preceded in death by his mother (Izora); a sister (Irene Hammer) and a granddaughter (Karen Hinshaw).
Mr. Hinshaw was a member of the Methodist church.
The son of Irvin and Izora Benson Hinshaw he was born Sept. 19, 1906, at Kellogg and was educated in Kellogg schools.
He was married to Velma Johnson April 9, 1932 at Newton.
Mr. Hinshaw was a foreman and press operator at the Mid-West Co. in Kellogg.
