Gored To Death By Mad Bull

R. L. Wimmer Colfax Farmer Died Wednesday

Ray L. Wimmer, a farmer living two miles southwest of Colfax died at the veterans hospital in Des Moines early Wednesday afternoon from injuries received when he was gored by a bull on his farm Tuesday.

Wimmer, about 47, and a World war veteran was taken to Des Moines by ambulance about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Wimmer who was partially disabled and his wife were watering a team of bulls when the one attacked and gored Wimmer's left side.

The animal was one of a team that Mr. Wimmer had raised as pets and trained. For parades and celebrations Wimmer hitched them to a covered wagon and drove them like oxen. Both animals were considered to be of gentle nature.

The victim is survived by his wife, a 15 year old son, his mother, one sister and a brother. Burial will be in Osceola.
