RICE, PARMLEY, BRADY

P. R. Rice--

Funeral services for Preston R. Rice, who died Saturday morning at the Jasper County home, were held at the Morgan Funeral home Monday afternoon with Rev. W. A. Elder Holmes in charge. Burial was in the Newton Union cemetery.

Pallbearers were A. E. Hindorff, L. W. France, Geo. O. Kelly, L. D. Reid, Philip Scharf and J. S. Lambert.

Music was furnished by Mrs. L. B. Logan, accompanied by Lois Hundling, Mrs. C. A. Malmberg and Mrs. Mrs. S. J. Sullivan were in charge of the flowers.

The deceased was born May 22, 1857 in Wayne County, Kentucky, coming to Jasper county in 1867. He was united in marriage to Vera L. Parmley of Kellogg, Ia., on September 3, 1885.

Surviving relatives are a daughter, Mrs. James T. Brady of Newton; a son, Denver W. Rice of Los Angeles, Calif., and two brothers, Edward Rice and John W. Rice of Grinnell, Ia.
