Harvey Nolin, Member of Pioneer Family Dies in California

Tool's Chapel, Ia.--Harvey H. Nolin, 72, member of a pioneer Tool Chapel family, died April 10, at Huntington Beach, California, according to word received here.

Mr. Nolin was born March 1, 1868, in a log cabin on his parents farm in the Tool Chapel neighborhood, and it was there that he spent the greater part of his adult life. On October 16, 1889 he was joined in marriage to Sadie Woody, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Woody, also of the Tool Chapel vicinity. To this union four children were born.

In 1905 the family moved to Shawnee, Okla., and later to Morris, Okla., where Mrs. Nolin died in 1907. Following the death of his wife, Mr. Nolin and his family moved to Red Point, Okla., and later back to Newton.

Mr. Nolin and Nellie Townson were married after Mr. Nolin returned here, and in 1918 a son was born to them. The infant died about a year later.

Following a separation with his second wife, Mr. Nolin moved to Huntington Beach, California, where he married Mrs. Anna Mae Peaks of that city.

Surviving Mr. Nolin are his widow, four children, Mrs. Ida Wallace and Vernon Nolin of Huntington Beach, California, Mrs. Grace Meeks of Newton and Mrs. Cora Haft of near Newton and two step-children, Miss Grace Peaks and Mrs. Ray Vander Veer of Huntington Beach. Also surviving are two brothers, Elza and Ben Nolin of Monroe, one sister, Mrs. John Wood and nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Santa Ana, Calif., with interment at Huntington Beach.
