CHARITON – Wayne Braaksma, 42, of Chariton, a former resident of the Killduff and Newton areas, died Monday, Sept. 1, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton. Burial will be in Wittemberg Cemetery north of Newton.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Patsy; three sons, David of rural Iowa City and Rick and Randy at home; his mother, Carrie Braaksma of Newton; and several brothers and sisters.
A native of Killduff, he farmed and was employed by Byron Beukema in the Newton area before moving to Chariton.
He was married to the former Patsy Smith of Killduff.
