Fred Henning of Newton Is Dead; Service Tuesday
Fred Henning, 74, a lifetime resident of Newton, died at 8:05 o’clock today at Skiff Memorial hospital. Mr. Henning formerly operated a brickyard here both by himself and with his father for a number of years.
Funeral services have been set for two o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Johnson-Murdoch Funeral Home. Burial will be at Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Henning’s home was in Leeper’s Addition at the northwest edge of Newton. He remained a bachelor throughout his life.
The son of William and Bertha Henning, he was born May 28, 1875, in Newton. He received his education in the Jasper county schools.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. C. O. Marshall of Newton; one brother, William Henning of Newton; three nieces, Mrs. Glen Bruce, Mrs. John A. Madin and Miss Maurine Marshall of Newton, and two nephews, William E. Marshall of Newton and Dr. C. E. Stofflet of Lowden, Ia.
