KELLOGG — Kenneth F. “Pappy” Johnson, Sr., 87, of Kellogg died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, at the Kellogg Christian Church in Kellogg.
The family will greet friends with a dinner at the American Legion in Kellogg following the memorial service.

Kenneth was born April 3, 1922.
Those left to honor Pappy's memory include his wife, Joneil "Joni" of Kellogg; 10 children: Martin Morh and family, Nicholas Berkenbosch and family, Kasandra (Mike) Horrell and family, Loretta Hines and family, Kenneth “Skip” Johnson, Jr. and family, Becky (Larry) Burrell and family, Ronald Sites and family, Linda Sites and family, Donnie Sites and family, and Donna (Mike) Hick and family; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Joyce Hotchkin; sisters-in-law, Sam Hotchkin and Sally Hotchkin; brother-in-law, Rod Hotchkin and family; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; his Boy Scout Troop, his ABATE biker friends, and many other friends and family.
Pappy was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Emma Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Virginia Holmquist; father-in-law, Neil Hotchkin; and 2 brothers-in-law, Scott and Van Hotchkin.
Pappy was a graduate of Stanton High School in 1940. He worked on the assembly line at the Maytag Company for several years. He was also an ordained minister.
Pappy was a member of the Kellogg Christian Church, UAW Local 997, ABATE, and the Eagles #2545. He enjoyed crafts, riding motorcycle, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
Memorials in Pappy's name may be left at the church on the day of the service or may be sent directly to the family.
