Mrs. Olga Hotchkiss Died in Des Moines
Funeral Services Held in Des Moines and Baxter; Burial in Baxter
Mrs. Olga Hotchkiss, 38, passed away January 16th, 1952, at 1 p.m. in the Mercy hospital in Des Moines following a short illness.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Tinnermeier of Baxter and the daughter-in-law of Mrs. Maude Hotchkiss of this city.
Mrs. Hotchkiss was born march 17th, 1913 at Baxter, graduating from the Baxter high school in 1930 and then attended a business school in Marshalltown for two years.
She was married to Jack Hotchkiss, of Colfax, April 24, 1932, at Princeton, Mo. Her husband preceded her in death.
During the past thirteen years she has resided in Des Moines where she has been employed at the Employment Security Commission as a statistician.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Sauer, of Des Moines, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Tinnermeier of Baxter, one brother, Alvin Tinnermeier of Baxter, two sisters, Mrs. Irma Martindale and Mrs. Sylvia Hines, both of Des Moines.
Mrs. Hotchkiss was confirmed in the Bethany Reformed Church at Baxter and later transferred to the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Des Moines when she moved there.
She was well known in Colfax, having lived here for a time and she and her daughter were regular visitors in the home of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Maude Hotchkiss.
Funeral services were held at 10 o’clock Friday from the Dahlstrom Funeral home in Des Moines at two p.m. in the Bethany Reformed church east of Baxter with Rev. Arthur N. Simonsen of Des Moines officiating, assisted by Rev. Armen Tendick.
Burial was in the Bethany cemetery.
