Ersel Anthony Jr. Dies at Hospital; Rites Thursday
Ersel Anthony Jr., 10-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ersel Anthony, died at 7:40 a.m. today at the Skiff Memorial hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson Chapel.
The Rev. Marvin E. Suhr, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Prairie City.
Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Johnson Chapel.
The child is survived by his parents; a sister, Judith; a brother, Lewis, both at home; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Anthony and Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Dickerson, both of Newton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph, in 1953.
The son of Ersel and Margaret Dickerson Anthony, he was born Aug. 27, 1954 in Newton and resided here until 1958 when he moved with his parents to Arizona.
He returned to Newton in 1963.
