Frank DeYoung Rites Held Here
KELLOGG, IA – Funeral services for Frank DeYoung, 59, of Kellogg, were conducted Friday afternoon at the Toland Funeral home in Newton. Rev. William W. Johnson of the United Presbyterian church was in charge of the service.
Pallbearers were John Strovers, Lester Strovers, Alfred Christianson, Connie DeBondt, Jay Auten and Joe Harthorn.
Music was furnished by Mrs. F. E. McClean, accompanied by Mrs. E. C. Sabin, who sang “Old Rugged Cross” and “103rd Psalm.”
Mr. DeYoung was born in Jasper county March 4, 1882, and traveled extensively over the United Sates visiting practically every state in the union as a concession man with Ringling Brothers Circus.
He is a member of the Ben Morgan Post, American Legion, and serviced during the World War in the U.S. Navy. For the past ten years he has been at home on a farm 3 ½ miles southeast of Kellogg.
Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Arthur Virrips of south of Kellogg and three nieces, Jeanne, Leola and Betty.
