GRINNELL — Marilyn I. Anderson, 83, of Grinnell died Friday, May 15, 2009, at Friendship Manor Care Center.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. Len Eberhart, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Visitation will be from 1 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Memorials may be directed to the Grinnell United Methodist Church or to Grinnell Regional Hospice. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on the Smith Funeral Home Web site at www.smithfh.com.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Ronny (Kathy) Anderson of Pella, Dennis (Stella Mann) Anderson of Grinnell, Mary (Steven) Armstrong of Corington, Wash., Marcia (Ron) Iverson of Grinnell and Terry (Beckey) Anderson of Grinnell; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Freddie (Ramona) Swanson of Newton and Donald (Doris) Swanson of Warsaw, Mo.; and her sister, Minnie (Robert) Etter of Melcher.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray G. Anderson on Jan. 8, 2003; her infant grandson, Michael Anderson; and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Anderson on Dec. 24, 2002.
