PRAIRIE CITY — Donald “Jim” Wagaman, 56, of Prairie City died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center of Des Moines.
A celebration of life service for Jim was today, Monday, May 18, at the Prairie City Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. A memorial visitation for Jim was Sunday, May 17, at Coburn Funeral Home of Prairie City.

The son of Wayne and Laurel Mae (Yowell) Wagaman, Donald James Wagaman was born on November 5, 1952. Jim was a lifelong resident of Prairie City and graduated from Prairie City High School. Jim served his country as a member of the United States Air National Guard. Jim was united in marriage with Ginger Regnier on March 18, 1982 at the Prairie City Christian Church. Jim worked for 30 years at Vermeer Manufacturing. He enjoyed cooking, playing solitaire, fishing, bowling, having a cold beer, and spending time with friends and family. Jim was an avid NASCAR and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He was a member of the Prairie City Fire Department and Prairie City Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife Ginger Wagaman of Prairie City; children: Tina (Ian) Hauck of Mingo, Gilbert (Joy) Olson of Monroe, and Amanda (Shannon) Pecinovsky of Prairie City; mother, Laurel Wagaman of Prairie City; siblings: Bob (Sandy) Wagaman of Prairie City, Lee (Larry) Borchardt of Prairie City, Max (Peggy) Wagaman of Pella, and Jerry (Velvet) Wagaman of Prairie City; and eight grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Wagaman.
Memorials may be given to the Donald “Jim” Wagaman Memorial Fund.
