Norma Jean (Carpenter) Case, 77, of Newton, died April 29, 2009, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
She is survived by two sons, Doug Edwards and Brad Case, and two sisters Patricia Hennon and Barb Wisgerhof, both of Newton. She is preceded in death by her parents Boyce and Eula Carpenter and a brother Robert Carpenter.

Memorial Service: Private family services are planned , at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Those left to honor Norma's memory include her sons, Doug (Susan) Edwards of Casper, Wyoming and Brad (Tina) Case of Michigan City, Indiana; step-daughter, Chris (Bill) Cork of Mason City, Iowa; her five grandchildren: Kory Edwards of Gainesville, Virginia, Kurt Edwards of Casper, Wyoming, Adam, Amber and Nathan Case of Michigan City, Indiana; two sisters, Patricia (Manny) Hennon of Newton and Barbara (Ken) Wisgerhof of Newton.
Norma Jean Carpenter Case, daughter of Boyce and Eula (Sutton) Case, was born June 13, 1931 in rural Jasper County, Iowa. She grew up in the Metz and Newton areas. Norma worked several different jobs, but for the longest time worked for Hach Chemical in Ames, where she was an order filler and technician.
Norma enjoyed playing piano by ear and ballroom dancing. She rode motorcycles for a time, and was a member of an all female band, the Garterettes.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Robert Carpenter.
