John Miller born 2 April 1839 in Wooster, Wayne, Ohio and died 24 May 1914 in Colfax, Jasper, Iowa and burial 26 May 1914 in Colona, Henry, Illinois. The son of James and Catherine Miller.
He married on September 19, 1867 in Henry County, Illinois to Amanda Quillen, born September 1844 in Illinois, the daughter of Chester and Lavinia Quillen.
They had two sons, Nelson Wiley Miller and Edward N. Miller.
He was a coal miner by trade.
