Carol S. Sparks, 60, of Newton died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Hospice of Jasper County’s Monarch Wing in Newton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, with Pastor Emmett Kadwell officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville.
The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
Carol Sparks was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Fairborn, Ohio, the daughter of Carson and Della (Conway) Williams.
On Dec. 22, 1984, she married Dennis L. Sparks in Lynnville.
Carol graduated from Fairborn High School in Fairborn, Ohio, and Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minn.
She worked as a CNA for more than 20 years for Skiff Medical Center and Skiff Home Health Care, retiring in 2004. After retirement she worked at Rock Communications for two years.
She enjoyed reading books, collecting geese, spending time with her grandkids and visiting with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Dennis of Newton; three sons, Troy (Alicia) Wearmouth of Branson, Mo., Gabe (Sonja) Wearmouth of Newton and Jason (Shawnee) Sparks of Newton; four grandchildren, Ashley, Bailey, Tayler and Tyler; 10 brothers and sisters, Ivan (Billie) Williams, Charles Williams, Eugene Williams, Ted (Carol) Williams, Timothy (Amy) Williams, Steven Williams, Sophia Fugate, Rita (David) Thompson, Reva (Roger) Walters and Flo (Roger) Brown; father and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Alice Sparks of Lynnville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry (Irene) Sparks, Lloydeana (Jim) Stewart, Bill (Lynda) Sparks, Mary (Emmett) Kadwell and Mildred (Rich) Henschel; special friend Beth Rounds of Webster Springs, W.V.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Geneva and Jerldine Williams; brother-in-law Dan Fugate; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Williams and Bonnie Sparks.
