Faidley, Clarence Sr.
Clarence Faidley Dies on Tuesday; Rites Saturday
Prairie City - Clarence Walter Faidley, Sr., 85, a resident of Prairie City since 1956 and longtime resident of the Prairie City and Colfax communities died Tuesday at his home in Prairie City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Church in Prairie City.

The Rev. Alexander Haines, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Memorial contributions to the Prairie City Christian Church will be accepted.

Friends may call at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City after noon Friday.

Survivors are four sons, Gaylord F. and Leland C. both of Colfax and Clarence W. Jr. and Wayne E. both of Prairie City; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and two brothers Roy and Cleo E., both of Colfax.

Mr. Faidley was preceded in death by his wife Vera, April 19, 1972. He was a member of the Christian Church in Prairie City.

The son of Levi W. and Nora Ann Gooden Faidley, he was born Oct. 23, 1892 at Colfax and was graduated from Bear Grove School.

He was married to Vera Elizabeth Clymer March 16, 1916 at Colfax.

Services Held for Clarence Faidley, Sr.

Clarence Walter Faidley, Sr. 85, a resident of Prairie City since 1956 and longtime resident of the Prairie City and Colfax communities, died Tuesday, May 9th at his home in Prairie City.

The son of Levi W. and Nora Ann Gooden Faidley, he was born Oct. 23, 1892 on a farm south of Colfax and was graduated from Bear Grove School.

He was married to Vera Elizabeth Clymer Mar. 16, 1916 and they lived on the family farm northeast of Prairie City until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, April 19, 1972.

Mr. Faidley served as a member of the Mound Prairie School board 20 years, was a charter member of the Mound Prairie Township Grange and of the Farmer's Exchange on which he served as director for 26 years. He was a 50 year member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau and a member of the Prairie City Christian Church since 1936.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Church with burial in Waveland Cemetery. Rev. Alexander Haines, pastor of the church conducted the services.
