BETTENDORF — Dean Milan Wood, 81, of Bettendorf died Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at his home.
Memorials may be made to American Red Cross, Iowa Flood Relief, 1100 River Drive, Moline, Ill. 61265.
He was born July 19, 1927, in Monroe to Clarence and Mary (Wohlwend) Wood. He married Catherine Judd Aug. 20, 1954, in Bettendorf. She died in June of 2007.
He was employed at Roederer Mayflower out of Davenport as a long distance furniture mover for over 30 years. He served in the Navy during World War II. He enjoyed NASCAR and fishing.
Survivors (and spouses) include his children, Lynn “Butch” (Chris) Wood of Tacoma, Wash., Julie (Ken Milder) of Hillsboro, Ore., Dawn (George) Porter of Hampton and Robin (Rodney) Buskirk of Eldridge; sister, Frances Thompson of Los Altos, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Leonard Stewart.
