Almost a Hundred Years

A few days ago a telegram was received announcing the death of William Blackman, at Healdsburg, California. Father Blackman was almost a hundred years of age – would have he lived until next May. He was a resident of this city for many years, and moved from here to California for the benefit of his health. The change was beneficial, and but for the infirmities incident to old age, he has enjoyed almost perfect health until within a short time of his death. He was a grand old man, and his life a long chapter of good deeds. He has two daughters residing in this city, Mrs. Henry Sampy and Mrs. D. S. Couch. ~ The Newton Record, Friday, December 27, 1895, Page 1, Column 4
