MONROE — Hubert Price, 88, of Monroe, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Hospice of Pella Comfort House.
Funeral services for will be on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Monroe United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. with burial following at Silent City Cemetery of Monroe. Visitation for Mr. Price will be today, Friday, Nov. 14, at Coburn Funeral Home of Monroe from 2 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Huron and Ida (Timmons) Price, Hubert was born on July 11, 1920 at Prairie City. Hubert was united in marriage with Mildred Meyers until her passing in 1963. To this union, two sons were born. On September 5, 1970 Hubert was united in marriage with Jean Germann at the United Methodist Church of Newton. Hubert spent his life as a devoted farmer. He also enjoyed playing the harmonica, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Hubert was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Jean Price of Monroe, sons; Jon Price and his wife Elizabeth of Champlin, MN, and Clint Price and his wife Cheryl of Monroe, stepchildren; Junella Skokan of Milwaukee, WI, and Gary Woods of Newton, Iowa. Those also left to honor his memory are his sister, Ruby Sparks of Colfax, four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mildred, grandson, Brian Price, and sister, Irene Farver.
