OBITUARY

BYRON BRODERSEN

Monroe -- Funeral services for Byron Brodersen, 70, of Monroe, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the Monroe United Methodist Church.

Dr. Otto Steele, pastor of the church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Public Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. today, Aug. 23, at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe, Hoyt Woody will be lecturer.

Memorial contributions to the Monroe United Methodist Church or the Monroe Emergency Unit will be accepted.

Mr. Brodersen died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at his home in Monroe.

Survivors are his wife, Lola; two sons, Carroll Brodersen of Monroe and Robert Brodersen of Spring Valley, Wis.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wilbur.

Mr. Brodersen was a member of Monumental Masonic Lodge 311, AF and AM, in Galesburg.

Mr. Brodersen, who farmed for many years, was employed by the Jasper County Maintenance Department from 1965 until his retirement in 1975.

The son of Elmer and Mamie Dale Mick Brodersen, he was born Sept. 10, 1913 near Galesburg.

He was married to Lola DePenning Sept. 10, 1935 in Newton.
