Clemeth “Pete” Hesse, 56, of Newton died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at his home in Newton.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.
The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton.
Memorials in Pete’s name may be left at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Hesse of Newton; his children, Barbara “Punky” (David) Oswalt, Alisha Hesse, Jarrod (Candice) Hesse, Jason Hesse and Chyanna Hesse, all of Newton; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; his brothers and sisters, Joe (Signa) Hesse of Newton, David (Linda) Hesse of Seymour and Betty (Larry) Reavis of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Aubrey and Virgil; two brothers in infancy; and a sister, Elizabeth.*
Those left to honor Pete's memory are his wife, Connie of Newton; 5 children, Barbara "Punky" (and David) Oswalt, Alisha Hesse, Jarrod (and Candice) Hesse, Jason Hesse, and Chyanna Hesse, all of Newton; his 16 grandchildren, Katherine (Levi), Joshua, Madison, Taylor, Vincent, Akasha, Larry, Shanielle, Nytasha, Marissa, Mackenzie, Cameron, Damien, Zoey, Autumn, and Willow; 1 great-grandchild on the way; his 2 brothers, Joe (and Signa) Hesse of Newton, David (and Linda) Hesse of Seymour; sister, Betty (and Larry) Reavis; and many nieces and nephews.
Pete was a truck driver for many companies including Wehrle Trucking and Bisom Trucking.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1655 and was the Senior Vice Commander.
