LOUIS MYERS DIES MONDAY
Well Known Newton Man Succumbs After Long Illness; Funeral Services Wednesday.

Louis J. Myers died at his home, 307 South Third Avenue East at 8 o'clock last evening after a long illness. Mr. Myers had been a resident of Newton for many years and until failing health prevented his continuing his work, was employed in the furniture department of the Iowa Mercantile company, which position he held for 15 years.

OBITUARY GIVEN

Mr. Myers was born Aug. 25, 1879 near Reasnor, Ia., where he spent the earlier part of his life. On Dec. 24, 1902, he was married to Miss Gertie Williams. To this union four children were born, three of whom survive. They are Mrs. Charles Hilligas, Floyd Myers and Miss Mable Myers. Another son, Max, died in infancy. Mr. Myers is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Fred Scheels of Montezuma; Mrs. John Larimer, Mrs. Jim Allen and Mrs. John Frith of Newton, and two brothers, Fred Myers of Carroll, Ia., and George Myers of Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Morgan Funeral home. Rev. W.H. Blancke of the Lutheran church will be in charge. Services at the grave in the Newton cemetery will be conducted by the I.O.O.F. lodge.

ODD FELLOWS TO MEET

The Odd Fellows are requested to meet at the I.O.O.F. hall tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, to attend the funeral services of Louis Myers, it was announced today by Lloyd Lane, Noble Grand of the Odd Fellows.
