Lena Holmes dies Saturday; rites Tuesday

Mrs. Thomas (Lena M.) Holmes, 91, a resident of Heritage Manor since April and a former resident of 108 S. 3rd Ave. E., died Saturday afternoon at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Graveside rites will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.

The Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the First Lutheran Church in Newton, will conduct services.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions to the First Lutheran Church will be accepted. Memorials may be left at the church or at the funeral home.

Surviving is a son, Dwain of Newton; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Holmes, a member of the First Lutheran Church, had been employed at the Midwest Manufacturing Co. in Kellogg during World War II.

The daughter of Ernest and Henrietta Brune, she was born April 17, 1890 in Blue Hill, Neb.

She was married in 1929. Mrs. Holmes came to Kellogg from Nebraska in 1925 and to Newton in 1944.
