Funeral services for Eleanor C. Mc Dermott, 89, of the Newton Health Care Center, a resident of Newton since November, 1967, were held Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Sacred heart Catholic Church.

The Rev. E. William Kaska, pastor of the church, conducted services. Burial was today in Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, Ill.

Vigil services were held Tuesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Surviving are a number of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John.

Miss Mc Dermott was an intermediate correction clerk for the Milwaukee Railroad in Chicago, Ill., for 35 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Society and Employee's Mutual Benefit Association.

The daughter of John and Annie O'Byrne Mc Dermott, she was born June 29, 1901 in Chicago, Ill. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, December 1990.
