DOLLIVER - Funeral services for Grace Iva Swalwell Kleen, 74, of rural Dolliver, a former resident of Jasper County, were held Saturday, Oct. 13, at the United Methodist Church in Dolliver.

The Rev. Marshall Monthei conducted services. Burial was in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver.

She died Oct. 10 at her home in Dolliver.

Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville handled arrangements.

Survivors are a son, John W. of Estherville; a daughter, Janice E. Tomlinson of Chicago, Ill.; and a sister, bonnie (Mrs. Roy W.) Eilert of Rt. 2, Newton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 23, 1982, parents, three brothers and a sister.

Mrs. Kleen was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lakeside Country Club, Chatter Club, Dolliver American Legion Auxiliary, Sugar Grove Grange 2044 and a charter member of the Sugar Grove Ladies Farm Bureau Club and had taught Sunday school for many years.

The daughter of James Weaver and Carrie Bell Miller Swalwell, she was born Nov. 19, 1915 in rural Baxter and was educated in Baxter schools.

She was married to Roy Charles Kleen Feb. 12, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Newton.

The couple resided in the Dolliver and Gruver areas following their marriage. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, October 1990
