PRAIRIE CITY - Hattie Elizabeth Wilson Kondratow, 87, of Prairie City, a resident of Prairie City for a year and a half, died Saturday evening, Jan. 27, at the Des Moines General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

The Rev. Mark Wyatt, pastor of the Zoar Church, north of Newton, will conduct services. Burial will be in Lowman Cemetery in Runnells.

Survivors are three sons, Thomas Chitwood of Runnells, Gary Dawson of Des Moines and Bill Dawson of Moberly, Mo.; three daughters, Lucille Fullington Rethmeier of Higbee, Mo., and Juanita Rethmeier and Nadine Owens, both of Newton; 17 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving are a sister, Luella Akeman of Des Moines, and a brother, Frank Wilson of Greentop, Mo.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, her parents and three husbands.

The daughter of Alvin and Lucretia Wilcox Wilson, she was born Feb. 7, 1902 in Elmer, Mo.

She was married to Andrew Chitwood, to Orin Dawson and to Steve Kondratow.

Mrs. Kondratow had resided most of her life in Howard County, Mo. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1990
