Barbara Kent, Former Jasper Resident, Dies

BAXTER-IRA - Barbara Kent, 47, of Lindstrom, Minn., a former resident of the Baxter-Ira area, died Monday at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Union Chapel Church near Mingo.

The Rev. Gary Hubley, pastor of the Baxter Congregational United Church of Christ, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Union Chapel Cemetery near Mingo.

Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is handling arrangements.

Survivors are three sons, Donald of Jefferson, Wis., and Rodney and Denver, both of Anoke, Minn.; a daughter, Stephanie at home; two grandchildren; her father, Louis Klopping of Lindstrom, Minn.; and a sister, Pamella West of Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Mrs. Kent was a medical secretary at Physician's Clinic at Lindstrom.

The daughter of Louis and Velma Cross Klopping, she was born Mar. 31, 1931 in Jasper County near Ira and was educated in Jasper County Schools. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, May 1978
