Albert E. Keith

Funeral services for Albert Eugene "Gene" Keith, 56, of 1623 Walker, Des Moines, a resident of Newton until moving to Des Moines in 1963, were held today, July 5, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Jerome Egel, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, conducted services. Burial was in Dallas Cemetery in Dallas.

Visitation with the family was held Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Keith died Monday at his home after suffering a heart attack.

Memorials to a fund in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Annette; two sons, Rick of Collerville, Tenn., and Jimmie of Des Moines; a step-son, Johnnie White of Des Moines; two daughters, Lou Ann Blalock and Donna Orman, both of Collerville, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Jodi Champlin and Jackie White, both of Des Moines; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Jim of Newton and Glenn of Gordon, Texas; and four sisters, Ruth (Mrs. Calvin) Logue, Grace (Mrs. Dean) Hawkins; Beth (Mrs. Carl) Mc Gee and Polly Sanders, all of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Andrew, in 1969, a brother, Henry Keith, and two sisters, Betty Gomez and Frances Talbot.

Mr. Keith, a maintenance worker, had retired nine years ago due to a physical disability.

The son of James and Adella Miller Keith, he was born April 7, 1934 in Melcher.

He was married to Annette Coker Sept. 14, 1964 in Newton. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, July 1990
