Death of Mrs. Ervil Callison

The sad news of the sudden death of Mrs. Ervil (note: husband obituary is spelled Erville) Callison cast a shadow over the whole community. She passed away at her home 3 miles northwest of Kellogg at 4:30 o'clock Monday afternoon of pneumonia, following a week's illness of influenza, in the 38th year of her age.

Her husband and give children have all been ill of influenza and the mother contracted the disease while ministering to their wants.

Minnie Dennis-Callison was born in Newton, Iowa, March 13, 1880, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage with Ervil Callison about eighteen years ago and resided in the vicinity of Kellogg during all her married life.

She is survived by her husband, five children: Bessie, Ross, Myrtle, Clement and Frances and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Dennis of Newton and four sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Callison was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that friendship's circle was to her a large one. She was a useful member of society and rendered faithful service to the church and all other agencies that were within her province to aid. Her home instincts were strong and her affection for friends and kindred was tender and abiding. Among all she ranked as woman of refinement and sympathy, a kind neighbor, a devoted wife and mother and a true friend and her sudden death is a distinct loss to this community.

The funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, conductd by Rev. R. B. Helser, pastor of the Christian church at Newton. Interment at the Rushville Cemetery. ~ The Kellogg
