Glenn Oehler

DEMING, N.M. - Glenn Oehler, 84, of Deming, N.M., a former longtime resident of Newton, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Las Cruces, N.M.

Cremation was held.

Mr. Oehler resided in Newton for approximately 40 years and was employed for 31 years as a machine operator at the Maytag Co., retiring in 1972.

Survivors are two sons, Mark of Reeds Spring, Mo., and Dale of Minnesota; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, the former Hazel Klopping of Newton, and a sister.

He was a former member of the Newton First Lutheran Church.

Born and raised in Creston he moved to Newton as a young man. ~ The Newton (IA) Daily News, January 1995
