Peter Mulbrook of Kellogg Is Found Dead

(by a Staff Correspondent)
Kellogg, Ia., Sept. 13, Special:

Peter Mulbrook, 73, resident of the county for the past 70 years, was found dead at his home northwest of Kellogg, Monday afternoon of last week. Death was due to a heart attack, according to Dr. J. H. Faust of Newton, acting coroner, who was called in on the case. No inquest was held.

The body on Mr. Mulbrook, who lived alone, was found lying face downward near the back door of his home by a neighbor. Bedsprings were near the body and it is believed that the man had attempted to carry the bed springs from the house and the over-exertion brought on the heart attack.

He was born in Stineburg, Germany January 1, 1862, and came to the United States with his parents in 1866. Since that time he had made his home near Kellogg. He spent last winter with a brother in Des Moines, returning here in April and since that time had been alone.

Surviving relatives include three brothers, C. C. Brooks of Des Moines, Jacob Mulbrook of Newton, and Monte Mulbrook of Mingo. Funeral services were held at the Morgan Funeral Home in Newton Wednesday of last week.
