W. Koppin 84, Dies

Father of Newton Persons Dies in St. Paul, Minn.

William Koppin, 84 died this morning at a St. Paul hospital where he has been critically ill since suffering a recent stroke.

Mr. Koppin was a former resident of this county, having been engaged in farming here until he retired to make his home in Minnesota.

His daughter, Mrs. Axel Hanson, 40 of St. Paul, died a week ago today, following an unexpected heart attack.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Milo Snodgrass and Mrs. Nick Beukema of Newton, Mrs. Mabel Finnegan in Minneapolis and Florence, and three sons, W. L. and George Koppin of Newton and Fred Koppin of New York. Mrs. Koppin preceded her husband in death 12 years ago.

Funeral services have not been completed, though they probably will be conducted at St. Paul, according to the family.

Note: Wilhelm Friederich Koppin (William) was born in Naulin, (Kr. Pyritz), Pommern, Prussia, (Germany), Now Nowielin (Kr. Pyrzyce), Szczecin, Poland on July 18, 1857.
