H. Keith Jenkins

Graveside rites for H. Keith Jenkins, 67, of 1208 W. 7th St. S., a resident of Newton for 45 years, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends and relatives are asked to come to Wallace-Pence Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday to go in a prosession to the cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins died June 25 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines of cancer.

Cremation followed death.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Ann; a daughter, Rae Ann (Mrs. Marty) Hoffert of Newton; two grandchildren; a brother, Robert M. of Asheville, N. C.; and two sisters, Betty (Mrs. Tom) Bartel of Geneva, Ill., and Dorothy (Mrs. L. O.) Ely of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Jenkins, a member of the Newton Square Dance Club, had worked for Newton Sheet Metal and on the Alcan Highway, had owned and operated Newton Speedway and had been a truck driver for Western and Ace and Bisom's.

The son of Forrest and Blanche Bonifield Jenkins, he was born Aug. 3, 1923 in Knoxville.

He was married to Mary Ann Terris July 1, 1947. ~ THe Newton (IA) Daily News, June 1991
