==============================================
Benjamin Franklin Norris, son of Charles M. Norris and Sallie M. Pronty, was born February 25, 1868, near Prairie City, Ia., and departed this life July 16, 1932, at his home near Prairie City, at the age of sixty-four years, four months, and twenty-one days.Born and reared within one-half mile of his home where his death occurred last Saturday, his entire life was spent in and around Prairie City, where he has taken a very active part in the growth, the business and the development of the community.
Truly it can be said that Ben Norris, or B. F. as he was more familiarly known, was a Prairie City product, and save for a few weeks or months, he never had a residence in any other place. Prairie City was his home. He loved it and its people, more than any other. He knew the community and the community knew him. His integrity and reputation for fair dealing is known to everyone.
On May 9, 1888, he was united in marriage to Minnie L. Wooley, of Prairie City. Two children were born to this union, D. C. and Elmo F. both of Prairie City.
Practically from his youth and the time of his marriage, B. F. was very closely associated in business with his father, Charles M. Norris, until the death of that parent in 1911. Together they carried on varied business operations, probably the most extensive being the farming operations, specializing in the production and feeding of live stock.
