Herman Strater, age 71, died near Monroe, in November, 1931.

He was a bachelor.

Monroe Farmer Killed in Fall

Herman C. Strater, 71, of near Monroe, was killed sometime during the night Friday when he fell down the stairs at his home, where he and a bachelor brother lived together.

His neck was broken in the fall.

The other brother who is hard of hearing, reported that he knew nothing of it until 6 o’clock Saturday morning, when he found the body at the bottom of the stairs. ~ The Colfax Tribune, Thurs 19 Nov 1931.
