Obituaries 1920-1940 taken from the files of the Prairie City News, Prairie City, Iowa, page 35.

Asineth Scott daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Scott, was born near Terre Haute, Indiana, April 20, 1844, and died March 23, 1926, aged eighty-one years, eleven months and three days.

She moved to Iowa when she was twelve years of age with her parents and settled west of Prairie City.

She married Thomas Malcomson.

Two sons - Riley of Sheffield, Iowa and Henry of Minot, North Dakota.

She was married to George Barnes, who passed away several years ago.

She passed away at the home of her Granddaughter, Mrs. Ralph Hanawalt.

She was one of a family of eight, four brothers and two sisters having preceded her in death.

Surviving are her two sons, three grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Interment in West View Cemetery.
