Obituaries 1920-1940 taken from the files of the Prairie City News, Prairie City, Iowa, page 28.

S. A. Casper was born in Petersburg, Ohio August 28, 1849 and died May 2, 1925.

He was in the Civil War.

In December 1871 he married Rhoda A. Brown at Prairie City.

Thirteen children, four died in infancy. Seven sons and two daughters.

Those present at the funeral, namely - John R. of Taconite, Minnesota, Mrs. Frank Pentico, of Woodward, Iowa, Robert of Canada, Adolphus of Newton, Iowa, Alva and Mrs. Will Secrest of Taconite, Minnesota.

Burial in Lakeview Cemetery.
