Mary Poulson was born in Sweden, March 25, 1838 and died at Prairie City, February 15, 1924.
At the age of fifteen, she and three younger sisters came with their aunt and uncle to Galesburg, Iowa where she made her home with a family named Lyon. Her parents died when she and her sisters were quite young.
On March 9, 1864, she married Abner Brown Jenks. They moved to Des Moines by way of the stage and settled near the sight of the old capitol building, later moving southeast of Prairie City.
Five children - Clarence S. and Mrs. Della Yowell are the two surviving ones.
She has one living sister, Mrs. Eliza Wiggins.
Burial in Waveland Cemetery.
