Genus Int Veldt Sr. was born September 12, 1849 near Dordercht, Holland and died in Prairie City, October 21, 1923.

Married Marie Monster on April 29, I874. His wife, one daughter and six sons survive - Herman of Kansas City; Ross of Colorado Springs, Colorado; John of Kansas City; Henry of Prairie City; Mrs. L. A. Bickford of Waterloo, Iowa, Genus Jr. of Prairie City and Arie of San Gabrial, California.

One daughter and one son died in infancy.

He was of a family of eleven, eight girls and three boys. Came to America in 1883 landing in New York June 23. Came to Otley and lived until 1889 when he came to Prairie City.

Burial in Waveland Cemetery.
